A well-mannered Tannat? It is hard to believe one could conjure up so much elegance from this robust variety. The Reserve Collection combines the heft and power of an NHL professional with the elegance and finesse of a ballerina. Its impression is initially a bit reserved, displaying subtle aromas of graphite and preserved plums. As it takes in more oxygen, hints of candle wax, cinnamon, honey, and freshly chopped herbs appear on the scene, coming together to form a wonderfully harmonious drinking experience. Tannins are quite present; however, they are not discharged in bombardment-like fashion, but overtake the palate gently and gradually.
