A wonderfully deep and complex wine that does not feel the need to pose in front of the mirror and admire its muscles. It gives a rather understated first impression, waiting to reveal the full scope of its power. On the nose, one is first enticed by notes of wild cherry, marzipan, and spice. On the palate, it is fruity – shyly so at first – but its flavour gradually and thoroughly spreads to reach every last corner of the palate, concluding with a seemingly endless reverberation of fruit aromas coupled with a whisper of dark chocolate. As light-footed as Cassius Clay in his best days and no less powerful. Carried throughout by a bright, invigorating, but still balanced and well-tempered acidity
Pairings: Pasta dishes with meat, hard cheeses, grilled dishes and oven-roasted poultry. However, it is still a pleasure to drink after the last bite has been finished – food is not necessary in order for it to shine.
Storage potential: 5-7 years (can be significantly longer under ideal conditions)
