Bella Donna, named in homage to the skilled women who created it, is a wine that delivers. Marselan, a varietal still relatively unknown on the European continent, is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, created in Montpellier in the 1960s. Though it enjoyed great popularity especially in Lebanon since its development, it has only been cultivated elsewhere in recent years: in parts of Southern Europe, and in South America. This is a delightful journey through fruit flavours – it goes down easy, yet has a lot of depth and complexity. In this “tour de fruit” strawberry and raspberry are the clear team leaders, supported masterfully by their domestiques – forest berries and dark stone fruits. A bit of white pepper rides along, rounding off the tour with charm.
