Pét Nat (Pétillant Naturel)

Pét Nat is the term used to describe sparkling wines that are fermented in a single stage using the oldest of all fermentation methods (méthode ancestrale), using only natural yeast as a fermentation agent. Thus, the fermentation time is shorter and no yeast or sugar are added. Pét Nats are often naturally cloudy and have a gentler perlage than conventional sparkling wines. Due to the minimal intervention, Pét Nats have an aroma which is funky, less "clean," but all the more exciting for it. The future belongs to Mother Nature!
