Carignan

The secret superstar from the south of France, in fact of Spanish origin, but in the native area around the city of Cariñena, where its name comes from, almost entirely displaced by Grenache (Garnacha). Attractive tannins and lively acidity, and a relatively subtle fruitiness, let experts and connoisseurs argue in each case how high to rate the variety. However, in dry and semi-arid climate, Carignan knows how to play all its strengths and shines with elegance.
